Dr. FLora,
I have yet another question, I have been doing the enemas daily and prior to this cleanse have doen them sporadically and it always takes at least an hour to expel all the water. I will end up on the toilet 5 or 6 times before I get rid of it all. Obviously peristalsis is working in slow mode. What can I do to speed things up and what has caused decreased peristalsis? Thanks.
I am having problems with my sprouting, for one I tried 2 different times with the sunflower and they just got fungus in the bottles and smell, I had to throw them away, I soaked the 1st set for 2 days, and was thinking that I must have drown them why they did nothing, so I soaked the next set overnight and then I put them to drain and wet them in the morning and then the evening for 2 days, but they did not sprout, so I left them there for anotehr 2 days wetting them and putting them back to drain, but they about 2 seeds sprouted, then they start to smell and fungus start to grow in the jars so I toss them out.
Now I sprouted the buckweet and the wheatgrass, the 3rd day when I look under the tray to take off the lid, there were some fungus on some of the wheat seeds that did not grow, but after the sun took them they more or less dissapear, however, I took the cover off the buckwheat and there were fungus too, so I thought that when the sun hit it then that would go away as well, but when I went and look at then yesterday and this morning they only spread more and gotten blacker which is all the buckwheat that did not sprout so they rotten I suppose and cause the fungus, what am i suppose to do? should I toss that away? and how do I deal with this going forward? Help…can I just soak them overnight and plant them directly in the earth instead of sprouting them and them planting them? I am in the caribbean and the temperature here is in 80’s 90’s so I guess that might be the issue, plus I sprout them inside and transfer them outside on the rack that I have there fore them under the eve of the house, which has a bit of direct sun in the morning, but shade in the afternoon and all evening.
Await our timely response as I have a lots of other seeds that I want to grow, and was just thinking that it would be best to just put them in the soil and let nature do its work..
You are finding out like others that there is a lot of bad seed out there. I need to clarify something though,it’s only when you are making rejuvelac, that you soak the seeds for 1 day and let them sprout for 2 days. When you soak the almonds, you let them soak for 2 days and then rinse and blend.
For the greens, we are trying to encourage you, however, to get away from tray growing. Dr. Wigmore used weeds and local greens from local markets and coconut water, and bananas and watermelon and local fruits the last 2 years of her life and felt marvelous energy, like she had been reborn, and she would want you, if she were alive, to go out and find weeds in your countryside, and use the papaya, watermelon, coconut water, mangos, etc. to blend, instead of having to import seeds that are not as important as your native greens.
The way we encourage people to prepare their garden soil for growing is to grow three 7 day crops of wheatgrass, and then turn the earth under and over each time, so at the end of 21 days, you will have soil that is organic and ready to grow your other seeds. Don’t even try to do this in trays. Just get the wheatgrass mulched in the soil and then plant directly into the well-prepared wheatgrass containing ground.
Thoughts about some of the private emails that need to be shared with everyone: People who are doing the whole program are reporting great rewards:
Many people are aware now that their feelings are changing and becoming more positive. Their skin is feeling smooth now, as the fats are dissolving, and when the enemas are consistently taken in the morning before you are awake 2 hours, your fears, angers, quick reactions, even suicidal feelings are disappearing.
It is normal to feel disorganized and to experience ‘brain fog’ for the first few days as your blood stream and lymphatic system fill up with the sludge that is coming from your fat cells as they clean out.
Ears clog up and eyes dim a little, people cough up a lot of phlegm from the lungs and sinuses as that oily sometimes black mucus breaks up and is coughed out or blown out. Your body is cleaning house and working harder for you to save your life and your sanity than it’s ever worked before, if you’re never experienced this elimination program.
Martin, that’s when the great dried foods and grains come in handy.
Cabbages upside down in a ‘root cellar’ will last all winter for the veggie kraut needs.
With sacks of wheat, bags of dulse, apples and other easily kept fruits wrapped up, it’s easy to eat and live healthfully.
You didn’t mention where you are, but nowadays, one can order the basics of this program all year long and never be without. I have had to pay nearly $8-10 for a large melon in the winter, when I was up in VA, but the grocer was glad to do it for me and kept the other 3 (I bought 4 at a time) in his cooler until I needed each one.
Dried figs and prunes rehydrated and used in the energy soups taste great, as well as dried raisins when one wants to gain weight. When you read the free books of Dr. Wigmore’s life that Dr. Carey provides, you will see how easily she ate, once she learned the various types of edible weeds.
That time of winter is when the indoor gardens are good, with a grow light (full spectrum lamp), you can grow lettuces, kale, collards, etc. easily.
I hope you can incorporate the use of Dr. Lisle’s electric wire to ground the trays if you use them for full benefit.
All of the nuts and seeds are able to be used and store well in their shells until needed. Almonds and macadamia are the only two that are alkaline, though.
Thanks for your timely response, I sure wish I had known this before I went ahead and ordered so much seeds, I live in the Islands and order from the states, so I have ordered a great variedty over $200 worth. anyway, what I will do now is prepare the grounds outside and take care of my needs by getting the growing area going instead of the soaking and spouting for 2 days, I will just put them directly into the ground (like I think is appropriate anyways-that is mother nature) and see what happen.
Thanks again for everythin, I do trust you are getting adequate rest as I have notice you are up for quite some time. Be blessed.
Dr. Flora, an interesting article/comments indeed. So you say it is better NOT to grow wheat grass in trays but in the open soil..I noted the preparation of the soil. Down in New Zealand we are rapidly coming into the middle of autumn and the approaching winter months where, yes, it can be cold too! What is the minimum temperature required to ensure outdoor growing of wheatgrass please? I take it that it is still necessary to sprout the wheat grass first before planting? No watermelons here in the winter will apples be alright instead? What about the use of dates in energy soups? I have been buying some totally delicious fresh dates from Iran..they are to die for, but they are not organic. Thank you and I am looking forward to your help. Jackie New Zealand
This sounds like a daft question..but after long storage..do nuts go off..die? Nuts in their shells that is. And what can we substitute for almonds as the only almonds we can buy here are already shelled and come from the States and I don’t trust them anyway due to irradiation etc and the org anic ones are very expensive. I have heaps of walnuts and hazel nuts over from 21 to 24 months ago Jackie NZ
How to grow an indoor garden with very limited space but wanting to eat infinite veggies??!! What growing medium etc and how successful can it really be? Jackie

It sounds like you have a lot of constrictions in your large intestine (colon) that is holding the water back. The more you do this, the more you will be able to get it out faster. If you run your fingers from the right side of your transverse colon along the imagined ‘road’ to the left side, while you have your feet elevated or are squatting on the toilet, it’s amazing how fast you can eliminate.
It still takes 4 or 5 minutes for most people though. Patience and persistence and things will speed up as your bowel regains it’s elasticity and returns to the proper place. Some people’s overloaded-with-feces transverse colon has dropped down (like a hammock with a person in it) on top of their uterus/prostate/bladder with disastrous results: bladder infections because you never get ‘peed’ out and all types of other problems, especially if you are harboring dairy.
Enlarged prostates and endometriosis have connections with the dairy protein and fat blocking and causing infections. Your bowels and lower organs love your efforts to get well!
Tanya March 15, 2010 pm31 11:45 am: Dr. Flora, I noticed that you mentioned bananas in your comments. Can we add bananas to the energy soup?
Flora: Tanya, not until the 21 days are over and you test yourself for allergic reactions, please. This is not part of the Wigmore elimination program. Bananas are wonderful, but some people are allergic to them, especially if they are not spotted. And, many people are reporting getting intestinal parasites after using them. If I want to sleep, I eat bananas in my soup. But not now, because I am doing the program with you.

You can do the program without the nuts. Just make sure you eat at least 2 packed cups of greens per day and have the dulse, 1/4th of an avocado per day and veggikraut. As Dr. Esselstyn (Reverse and Prevent Heart Disease) knows, one is perfectly healthy without nuts.

I was shocked this week to come home and see a huge plume of mist coming out of a truck right over my herb garden. I live in a ‘community’ and was assured that there would be no spraying. Apparently someone forgot about me! Now I can’t eat my lambsquarter, purslane and beautiful flax plants! I will have to go to the fields of my friends where the weeds grow now and graze until I can do what I suggested to you. In my opinion you have a bad batch of seed. This happened at Creative Health Institute sometimes when we ordered mail order. Over 30 years we’ve been teaching Dr. Ann’s program we established relationships with local feed stores and farmers for organic seed, and we constantly checked the germination rate as one measure of “good” seed.
The other thing we found was that old seed would mold instead of sprout, just like you’re experiencing. We’d send/take them back when it happened.
Seed can last for many years, as long as it doesn’t get wet, or damp, during storage.
It sounds to me, Donna, especially with you living in the Caribbean (I grew up in Key West, and understand “humid”), that you’ve gotten old seed that’s been stored in humid conditions.
Donna – one other thought. Are you using filtered water for your soak water? You didn’t mention what island you’re on, but when I worked around the Caribbean some tap water was… brackish. Bad water could cause you trouble, too.
